I love the colors in this, Jeff. Did you use pastel sticks, or was this created with Photoshop?

The full-length video is available for download on MassiveBlack.com. It is a two-part video, each part priced at $15. Only $30 to sit by Manchess' side and watch him work. AND you can watch him every day if you want. So far I've only purchased the Gary Kelley pastel demo, but eventually I buy the Manchess demo too.

Success! I clicked at the bottom between the brown window sill (with no words) and the edge of my Explorer screen. After some trial and error clicking blind, I got to the pictures. Nice stuff.

Dave, my guess is that your screen resolution is much smaller/shorter than is required for the menu to appear. Below the bird you should see a wood window sill. On the design of the window sill/frame/whatever are the menu links. Below the links you'd see the name Mieradome. The shapes to the left and right on your screen are the drapes to this window.

What's your screen resolution?

Thanks, Jeff. There must be something off about the way my computer interprets that page. All I see is a tree, a bird that flys back and forth, and some curtains. No words, no "Creative."

Hi Dave,

First, we need to hang out again sometime in the near-ish future. Now to business - the Mieradome site is pretty, but in spots it is a wee bit mysterious. To see the artwork I believe you must click on Creative. Personally, I would've labelled it Media. Anyway, I think the character illustrations display by default once you click Creative. They are displayed in a looped slideshow.

What are you supposed to click after landing on the home page of the Mieradome website? I can't figure it out.

Awesome news Jeff! Great thing about doing the traditional stuff - after-market. You can sell the originals to collectors and the such.

Kudos, mate!

Hi Ben! You suspicions have some solid ground, I think [wink wink nudge nudge]. With many of the Mieradome characters I used some reference to help speed the process. With each I would change the features enough that I don't get sued. Having said that, only one character - who I will not name - was based upon a famous personality. But even if I told you which character that was, I would be stunned if you guessed who my model was.

Anyway, how are you and Dara? I was thinking about you the other day as I was on the phone with another illustrator who lives out there in Ohio. I hope you're all doing well.

I just checked out the rest of the 18 you were commissioned to do and the one of Amavia sure does look familiar. I don't know anything about the book, but is that a main character? Heroine? Obviously someone VERY special and wonderful.
